And re-homed with a fun-filled family!
Poor little Blue, a gorgeous pony, was destined for the meat factory until we rescued him and then found him a wonderful home with Dave Crowley and his family (Danny, Bridanne, Annalee, TJ and Denise). With so many kids to look after him, Blue has found the perfect home where he will have all the […]
...a long way from Kerry!
Last week we put up an appeal from a lovely lady called Polly who was trying to re-home a gorgeous JRT called Buddy who had taken up residence on her doorstep after clearly coming from a difficult background. Polly couldn’t keep him as she already had a houseful of her own dogs but very kindly […]
Hammy, the beautiful black flat-haired retriever, pictured here on the left, has found his forever home with the lovely Sarah O'Neill. Sarah has always been a great supporter of AHAR, helping out in lots of ways, and she kindly offered to foster Hammy after he was recovering from an operation. Well he has fitted in […]
This is Lil Harrington, Suzanne’s adopted/stolen mum of twenty years, who is one of AHAR’s greatest supporters. When she read our post looking for a home for Boots, an ex-Cavan pound dog, she dropped everything and drove from Cork to adopt him! Lil lives in a stunning home with loads of land next to a […]

Shortly afterwards, John Kissane, Suzanne’s friend of 20 years and one of AHAR’s best foster homes, saw them on Facebook and fell in love with them but he didn't believe in his wildest dreams […]
This is Kerri waving goodbye to her buddies at AHAR as she goes home with her new Mum Jean Rowan, a wonderful lady and fantastic supporter of AHAR. We had originally named her Honey but Jean had to change her name because her husband was too embarrassed o shoud out ‘Here Honey” when out on […]
If ever a photo speaks a thousand words this is it! These were our lovely AHAR rescue dogs Toots and JCB heading off with the very happy Pat to their wonderful new life. Two more saved and in the best possible hands!
What a great pic of this gorgoeus staffie Scarlet and Marcey. Scarlet was one of our ex-pound dogs and she was put in a fun dog show in the UK and low and behold she won the top prize. How about that – from poundie girl to superstar!
Friends Forever After A Terrible Ordeal
These two were dumped in Ardfert, Co. Kerry and thanks to Eilin Lovett for taking them under her wing and driving to meet me, they are safe at last.
The bond they have is beyond sweet. They were both straying and begging for food together. The dog was minding the cat and licking the wounds […]
For those of you who were following Rory's story you'll be delighted to know that he is currently on his way to his new home!
A special thank you must go to Marie for fostering him, I know she's already missing him, and to Toni and Gemma for helping in finding him a new family. […]
