Regular monthly donations are a vital source of income for AHAR in helping us to meet our huge daily running costs.
As an added incentive for people to sign up, at the end of September anyone who is signed to make a regular monthly donation (including those who already have) will be entered into a free draw to win one of five AHAR hoodies that we will be giving away.
So please help us to save even more lives in the future by donating just €3 per month (or more if you can). It makes such a huge difference for the welfare of so many animals.
Please sign up here http://on.ahar.ie/e3sub or visit http://ahar.ie/donate if you would like to make a monthly donation of another amount – there is a regular donation option at the bottom of the page where you can choose anything from €2 to €100 per month. Thank you so much!

Just a reminder for any art collectors out there or anyone who wants to make a sizeable donation to AHAR and get a fantastic painting in return that we have this magnificent, timeless oil on canvass painting entitled Farmer’s Lament available for purchase at the moment.
Renowned Visual Artist Jim McKee has very kindly offered us the painting for AHAR to sell and to keep ALL the proceeds. The stunning picture is 31 x 39 inches and will be framed. Thank you so much Jim for your hugely generous gesture.
Jim's paintings have sold in the region of €5,000 – €10,000 and to own a Jim McKee painting is almost certainly a wise investment. The following Irish notables have invested in his paintings over the years: President Michael D. Higgins, Actor Patrick Bergin, Musician Frankie Gavin, Musician Sharon Shannon, Singer Mary Coughlan, Glenstall Abbey, Bank of Ireland Galway, Bank of Ireland Dublin, Irish Rugby Manager Eddie O Sullivan and many more.
This is a previous quote from Tom Kenny of Kennys Gallery in Galway – "Jim McKee is self-taught and fearless with paint. He has developed a personal and recognisable style, imbued with life and energy and colour. He uses a palette knife, virtually playing the oils like a musical instrument, and the results are humorous and honest, impressionistic renderings and reflections of Ireland today, its passing traditions, its people and its landscape".
We have set a reserve price of €3,000 for this stunning one-off piece by Jim McKee. Only offers at or above this price will be considered. Please private message us if you are interested. We appreciate that the cost will be out of many people’s range, but for those who can afford it, you will be buying a wonderful work of art at a price that should make it an excellent long-term investment also.
And, of course, your money will go in its entirety towards the Capital appeal for the purchase of the new AHAR premises and will bring us a huge step forward in our quest.

I have not been on face book with a few days, sorry to all who were waiting for updates on some of the dogs. I just needed some time to heal. Hope you all understand.
But I have some good news that will cheer you up.
First I would like to thank Gail of Allsorts dog rescue who sent her driver and transporter to take 28 of our ex pound dogs to new homes in the UK. Gail no words can thank you enough for all the help you give the Irish dogs and AHAR. Of the 28. Cindi from Rushton dog rescue took 5. Sue Howe took 1 and Jen from Comfy care dog rescue took 6.
Danny Holmes one of our fantastic team of vets, was here to vet cert all of the dogs before they went.
Life saving work is not the words.
22 Dogs are now on death row in Cavan pound. Thanks to Cavan spca for keeping them safe, AHAR will now be able to fit them in.
I am so looking forward to meeting them all.
New faces, new start and a safe future xx

After all the sadness and grief of the past week, here's something to cheer you up as we look forward to our AHAR Sponsored Tandem Skydive at Galway airport next Sunday 29th September. This will be a major fund-raiser towards the purchase of our permanent new premises so if you would like to donate towards that cause, then you can sponsor any of the mad (sorry that should read intrepid) skydivers at the following link – http://idonate.ie/ahar
There's going to be massive excitement at our big day out on Sunday with our 45+ skydivers and our 'Family Fun Day' with lots of live music and fantastic kiddies entertainment. So please come along on the day even if you don't want to plummet 10,000 feet to the earth!!
The inspiration for the Tandem Skydive came from Sharon Shannon, our wonderful AHAR Patron, and earlier this week she took advantage of the good weather to do her skydive (although she will be doing it again on the 29th along with the other celebrities who are signed up).
This is what Sharon had to say after the jump –
'Hello everyone. I'm still on a massive high after the skydive for AHAR.
Here's the video from Skydive Ireland. When they put the camera on me to speak before getting on the plane, I was so flustered and excited (and nervous), I forgot to say some the most important things of all, including: a huge huge thank you to everybody who sponsored me online and at all of my gigs for the last 3 months or so. You have been incredibly generous and this is all so greatly appreciated by AHAR and all of the rescued 4-leggeds. And best of all, we are still allowed to fundraise for a few months AFTER the skydive…
So if you have not already sponsored any of us, but would still like to, please click onto this link http://idonate.ie/ahar – hope you enjoy the video and look forward to seeing you all on 29th when I will be doing it all again!! Sharon'
