Found in Lucan today – please SHARE to help find his home

This little boy was found straying in Lucan (Dublin) today – he is a bit underweight and has been in the wars (scar on his head and fresh cut on his paws) so he may have been lost and straying for a while. He has been taken in by a very kind lady who reports that he is friendly but she can't keep him as has dogs of her own (and they are not getting on).

So please SHARE his picture particularly in the Dublin area, and let's try to get him home. Please contact Sarah on 086 1647237 if you know the owner or need more information.

And now for some gorgeous news.

Here is the hound type beagle dog that was found near Tralee two weeks ago. She was heavily pregnant. And just last Wednesday when all horror was happening at AHAR, these 7 bundles of cuddly fur were being born. All strong and healthy and mother doing great and she is a terrific mum.

Thanks to Ruth Collings who is fostering them and giving them the very best of attention and love.

Scarlett Dunscombe-Berry a 9 year old from Lancashire in England, who has collected loads for AHAR has collected today £70 for us today. What a little star she is.

Been to a lovely small dog show today with @[571829289508224:274:The Green Hound Bakery] and decided to do a little fundraising with the items which have been donated by @[59334031370:274:www.myfurryfriend.co.uk], the amazing Ede Mede (a lovely lady in her 80s who handmakes cards for our fundraisers) and Direct Line Pet Insurance.

Anyhow, alongside several donations we have had of late for @[145876848765350:274:Animal Heaven Animal Rescue], we will be sending £70 over to the rescue this evening.

And as if that wasn't good enough, AHAR poster girl Miss Mercy Berry came along to help with the fundraising and also won herself second place in the scruffy dog class. Here she is proudly showing off her 'I'm a beautiful dog certificate'. Whoever took her to Cavan pound to be put to sleep please take note!

Delighted to report that not just one but both the remaining two stables in our isolation unit commemorating Arion and Passion's incredible bond have been fully sponsored.

This will ensure that Arion and Passion’s names are forever linked at our new AHAR premises in what we have titled ‘Arion’s Isolation and High Dependency Unit – Providing Passion for Life’.

It is entirely appropriate that the name (and spirit) of Arion, Passion's guardian angel who minded her on the road to recovery and whose name means 'war horse' in Greek, should be there at the entrance to the new isolation unit. And beside Arion's name will be Passion's, the equine face of AHAR who survived extreme neglect against all the odds. Their story and spirit will hopefully serve as an inspiration to all future sick and injured equines who come into AHAR’s care. Arion will never be forgotten for his loyalty & heroism.

So a huge thank you to all those who donated – Joan Sands, Aoife Keehan, Sue Barclay, Kirsty Sherwood, Linda Murphy, John Pender, Caroline Ryan, Carolynne Mitchell, Mary Mullaniff, Michelle Gaul, Gary Hallman, Lynda Lutner, Nicola Ronaghan, Siobhan Brosnan (on behalf of the Firies rescue cats!), Elaine Francis, Imelda Cooney, Audrey Mealiff, Serena Cowdy, Eileen Thomas, Edward Bradshaw, Carol Hannan, Christine Betts, Lisa Marie Golden, Evolution CCTV Ltd, Majella Moynihan, Maeve McSwiney, Alvagh Cronin, Neil Barker, Sharon Doyle, Catherine Cahill, Christine Hubbard, Martha Neilan, Debra Morton, Norren Finnegan, Margaret Holderied, Mary & Pa Knowles, Ramona Morris, Barbara Cotter, Sue Rayns, Linda & Frank Kearns and Julie & Steve Royston. (Apologies for any spelling mistakes!)

Last but by no means least a HUGE thank you to Adrienne O'Keefe, a wonderful supporter of AHAR's who previously sponsored a stable for Passion and gave another very generous donation on this occasion to ensure that both the remaining two stables would be sponsored. Thank you xxx
