This stunning puppy was found dumped near Inch beach today. He was begging for food from the houses in the area. How can people be so cruel? He's only a baby…

To everyone who follows the AHAR page. There is this powerful little girl called Scarlett Dunscombe-Berry who is from the UK raising loads of funds for AHAR. Cake sales, marathons and anything else she can think of. Well I had the pleasure of meeting her today. She's tiny!!! But she would blow you away and talk the legs off a pot lol. The future of animal rescue looks very bright with this little girl and the best bit. She wants to be a vet. You will see loads of photos of Scarlett over the next few days. Her parents are here for a week.

Just had this pm from Sheila Daly.
Just spotted a greyhound running down d road in Knockeenduve/ coolcorcoran area. Followed him/her to ballydribben but lost her, reckon shes headed for killareny. Shes tan coloured with some dark patches and appears to have a black collar. I couldn't catch her. Please keep a look out if you are in the area. She is really thin and needs help but so afraid.

Betsy Rose – when she came to us she was too weak to stand. Too weak to even hold her head up. She had to be fed via syringe. She couldn't hold her tail up to go poop. But we were there to clean her up after each time she went poop. All she wanted to do was sleep. Each breath was a gift I treasured. I didn't want to let her out of my sight because we didn't know if that next breath would come. And I was determined that if God did call her home, she wouldn't be alone. She has become a part of me, a part of all of us that care. Thank you for being here with us on her road to recovery. She is the little mare that willed herself to live. She is amazing. She is a miracle. And she never stopped believing…

    Hi
I work in Mulcair Veterinary Clinic Cappamore Co. Limerick.
We have this stray dog handed into us two weeks ago and are unable to find an owner. A kind lady has fostered the dog at present, but we urgently need a permanent home for him.

He is friendly good with children and cats and we hope to neuter him shortly. He is good to walk on the lead and is quite in the kennels but like all young collies will need some training he loves to jump up to greet you!

If you could share this picture on your page it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

We have also been very kindly donated a Yamaha electric guitar with amp, strings and case to auction, with all the proceeds from its sale going to the AHAR Capital fund for the purchase of our permanent new premises. Thank you so much to Maria O’Carroll for the donation.

The guitar is second hand but is in perfect condition (other than a small scratch on the back) as it was only ever tried twice before Maria decided she preferred acoustic guitars! It cost €299 new and would be great for a beginner.

If you are interested in this Yamaha electric guitar, please private message us your offer through this FB page. We will accept offers of at least €100 with the highest bid received by 9.00pm this evening (Monday 12th August) winning out – or it can be purchased straightaway for a minimum donation of €200.

And please SHARE if you have any guitar loving friends or know someone looking to learn!

There are now just 17 of the 50 ‘shares’ left in the 'Dottie Pottie Stable Syndicate'! Thank you so much to all those who have already donated to sponsor a stable in honour of Dottie Pottie, our very special ‘special needs’ dog who was left at our gates in a very sorry state as a puppy, was minded by Suzanne like a baby and nursed back to full health after the trauma of the vet having to drain a pint of fluid from his tiny little head (caused by encephalitis).

This is Dottie Pottie pictured doing what he does best – greeting visitors (in this case the lovely Laura from Cavan SPCA pictured earlier in the year) with lots of hugs & kisses!

Dottie Pottie is a constant reminder that it’s what you can give that matters, not who you are or what you have. In his case he has so much love to give despite all his travails and that is why we would love his name to be commemorated for ever at the new AHAR premises with his very own Sponsored Stable.

So please consider joining his Syndicate through this link http://on.ahar.ie/dottiepottiesyn

‘Shares' are available for a donation of €20 each – you can take one 'share' or multiple 'shares', it’s up to you. And we just need another €340 to complete his Stable Syndicate.

All your donations will go directly towards the purchase of our permanent premises – thank you so much for those who have joined the Syndicate already. We will list all donors when the Syndicate is full.

We just received a lovely update from Maura and Angela Keane about two of our former residents which they very kindly re-homed for us after they were rescued by AHAR – the donkeys Elmo (the older one) and Ned (the younger one, formally known as Baby Boo).

Suzanne had Elmo from when he was a baby until he want to his forever home with the Keanes in October of last year.

Ned was rescued by AHAR around March this year and the Keanes kindly offered to become his foster home but then ended up keeping him! A great result for all concerned!!

Ned is still only a few months old but is already gorgeous looking and he enjoyed his first pedicure last week.

Two very content donkeys in a wonderful forever home – thank you so much Maura, Angela and all the Keane family!
