PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP. Suzanne saved 6 Horses from the slaughter house today. I was going to post a pic of a horse in a slaughter house but I know alot of kids follow our post. Suzanne paid 125 EURO per Horse and has to transport them back to AHAR. The 2 Stallions have to be casterated. All must be checked by a vet. More and more fees. But AHAR will not give up….EVER. And you the supporters have been so kind. So if you can donate to help these Horses we would be so thankful. Today alone has cost nearly 1000 euro and we are not even talking about vets and food yet. So PLEASE PLEASE if you can donate it will mean so much to these poor helpless Animals. Thanks and take care. Ted. Our link is htt://ahar.ie/donate

Last week we put up an appeal from a lovely lady called Polly who was trying to re-home a gorgeous JRT called Buddy who had taken up residence on her doorstep after clearly coming from a difficult background. Polly couldn’t keep him as she already had a houseful of her own dogs but very kindly fed him and treated his weepy eyes before getting in touch with AHAR to ask for our help in finding Buddy a home.
Well a woman called Nicola Falcus saw the post about Buddy here on the AHAR Facebook page and was so moved that she got in touch from Cumbria in the north of England offering Buddy a forever home.
After appropriate checks and lots of planning, Buddy has arrived safely via a recommended dog transporter in his forever home in the north of Britain. He arrived in an air conditioned, fully fitted transporter having been fed, watered and walked, and was in good spirits. In Polly’s own words: ‘We can highly recommend 'Aiden' the dog transporter who happily texted both myself and Nicola during his journey from Kerry to the North of England to reassure us. Aiden was recommended by AHAR's regular transporter who was unable to help and can be contacted on 086 604 7891.’
This wonderful little guy will have 9 acres, 24-hour loving company, horses and cats (both of which he gets on well with!) and is already wagging his tail happily. Previously scared of contact and probably abused, he has immediately recognised the good guys! He has found his home!
Thank you so much to Nicola Falcus (pictured here with Buddy), her mother and family for giving Buddy this lovely home. And of course a massive THANKS to Polly who took pity on him, looked after him and got in touch with us.
For all the cruelty we see on a sadly far too frequent basis, for all the puppies being dumped unceremoniously at AHAR’s gates, it is happy endings like this one that renew our confidence in human kindness.

Suzanne got a call to say there was 16 ponies at a cork fair loaded on a lorry for the factory. Jenny and suzanne got people at the fair to help take ten. There is 6 that still need help. They are costing €125 each. If anyone can please spare a few euro to help, we would be very grateful.

Molly is only 13 yrs old. She came without meeting any of us from the UK. Her mom became a very good friend when she adopted two of our dogs thanks to one of my best friends and fellow animal rescues Cindi from Rushton dog rescue who I love to bits. Well Molly never worked with animals or in rescue but when you tell her have the place spotless. She gets on her hands and knees and picks every old shaving off the cement. The future looks bright in animal rescue when a little girl works so hard because of her love for animals. She has done her mom Claire Roby very proud. We need more moms like you Claire xx
