Following our earlier appeal for any auction/raffle items, we have been donated this wonderful brooch bouquet by Carrie O'Connor of bestofbudsflorists.com – it is a truly stunning piece for a wedding for someone looking for something different and very special. Its retail value is €300 and all the proceeds from its sale will go the AHAR Capital fund for the purchase of the new premises.
It will go to the first person who will pay the full amount of €300. We will also accept offers of at least €200 with the highest bid received by 9.00pm on Sunday winning out if the €300 figure isn't reached before then.
If you are interested in this wonderful brooch bouquet, please private message us your offer through this FB page.
And please SHARE if you know any brides getting married!
Thank you so much to Carrie for your beautiful brooch bouquet donation and please do get in touch if, like her, you have any prizes or items that we could raffle/auction.

Just a reminder for any art collectors out there or anyone who wants to make a sizeable donation to AHAR and get a fantastic painting in return that we have this magnificent, timeless oil on canvass painting entitled Farmer’s Lament available for purchase at the moment.
Renowned Visual Artist Jim McKee has very kindly offered us the painting for AHAR to sell and to keep ALL the proceeds. The stunning picture is 31 x 39 inches and will be framed. Thank you so much Jim for your hugely generous gesture.
Jim's paintings have sold in the region of €5,000 – €10,000 and to own a Jim McKee painting is almost certainly a wise investment. The following Irish notables have invested in his paintings over the years: President Michael D. Higgins, Actor Patrick Bergin, Musician Frankie Gavin, Musician Sharon Shannon, Singer Mary Coughlan, Glenstall Abbey, Bank of Ireland Galway, Bank of Ireland Dublin, Irish Rugby Manager Eddie O Sullivan and many more.
This is a previous quote from Tom Kenny of Kennys Gallery in Galway – "Jim McKee is self-taught and fearless with paint. He has developed a personal and recognisable style, imbued with life and energy and colour. He uses a palette knife, virtually playing the oils like a musical instrument, and the results are humorous and honest, impressionistic renderings and reflections of Ireland today, its passing traditions, its people and its landscape".
We have set a reserve price of €3,000 for this stunning one-off piece by Jim McKee. Only offers at or above this price will be considered. Please private message us if you are interested. We appreciate that the cost will be out of many people’s range, but for those who can afford it, you will be buying a wonderful work of art at a price that should make it an excellent long-term investment also.
And, of course, your money will go in its entirety towards the Capital appeal for the purchase of the new AHAR premises and will bring us a huge step forward in our quest.

We got our 20 entries in the draw to win a round of golf for 4 people at the wonderful Adare Manor golf course, plus 4 full Irish breakfasts in the Carriage House there.

'It Works in Limerick'
Many congratulations – please pm us your name and address – and we will get the voucher in the post to you.
If you have a prize or something (really needs to have a face value of at least €100) that we could offer through a draw, then please private message us as this golf prize was a very generous donation from one of our supporters and it has helped us to raise another €200 towards the purchase of our new premises for AHAR.
Thanks as always for your fantastic support!

Kittens thrown out of a car at Tralee bay this morning. Guess they were going to be drowned but the tide was out at the time. Went back searching and was told the Gardai had been contacted so not sure if they got the kittens or if somebody else took them. Went searching with a lovely old couple who were out walking. Eventually we heard a purr and found a beautiful black Kitten in a hedge. The kind old couple said they would take and care for it. We searched for another hour but no sign of any more Kittens. This was a disgusting and cruel act. And so so common. Please neuter and spay your cats and if you have unwanted Kittens just hand then into your nearest rescue or pound. And please do not just dump them. Thanks. Ted.

We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to our amazing patron Sharon Shannon who is working so hard to make our Sponsored Tandem Skydive in Galway on Saturday 7th September a massive success. Sharon has recruited a number of other celebrities to jump but of course it is open to EVERYONE to participate. (If 7th September doesn't suit, you can still register with Skydive Ireland to do a Tandem Skydive for AHAR on a date that does work for you).
Full details of how to register can be found at http://ahar.ie/skydive/ It's not too late to sign up and we would love to see as many AHAR supporters there on the day as possible.
If you would like to donate rather than participate, then the full list of those who have registered to receive on-line donations via idonate is here – http://www.idonate.ie/988_ahar-ireland.html (click the Our Fundraisers link). There is of course a lot of personal fund-raising going on as well and Skydive Ireland will send out sponsorship cards to all those who register.
This is a major fund-raiser for us in our quest to raise the money for the purchase of our new permanent premises, so please support us however you can! Many thanks!
