Last night we noticed how weak Passion really is when she tried to pick grass from the side of the road on her walk.
So today we have started to lower her feed bucket and hay net in order to build up her muscles on her neck and back. And in fairness, she is coping really well. Poor old soul, your heart goes out to her. She has to struggle with the simple things in life.

Thanks to Anny who came with her husband Liam (who took photos) and signed out the dogs today for AHAR. Also to Ted Cronin who came to help, and Catriona and Emma who were all excited to see the pound for the first time. And Christy( in the photo with Anny) the dog warden we love. Look at the big smile on him lol.

Really hope you are all enjoying the superb weather. As you already know, the fundraising towards our new Animal Rescue Centre is going well and due to the kindness of our supporters we are well on our way towards Suzanne's Dream Center in Castleisland Co. Kerry. Alot done but also alot more to do.
Away from the Rescue Center there is also the Day to Day running costs. I am sure that you are aware of these from the regular posts Suzanne puts up. The Vets fees, the milk for the foals, the Dog food, Honkeys turnips, the transport and various other costs.
As you well know, Suzanne and her hardworking team never take a day off and strive for excellence. Therefore today we are starting a Friday Fiver, a fantastic idea that came from our topnotch volunteer Mary Knowles. We want our supporters to feel part of the Day to Day running of AHAR.
So if possible please donate a fiver (or 2 or 3 😉 ) to the link below. Every Fiver donated will make a massive difference to AHAR and will be so much appreciated. Maybe have a pint or glass of wine less at the weekend, do without that quarter pounder (veggie I hope), those 99 cones are full of calories, instead of getting a DVD watch a repeat on TV3, etc, etc.
Please let us know if you have any more suggestions and get your friends to do the same and please share!
Suzanne will be on later to talk more about Friday Fiver (she is collecting Dogs from Kerry Pound at the moment). She and all of us at AHAR really really appreciate all your support and long may it continue.
The link for donating to Friday Fiver is http://on.ahar.ie/fridayfiver. Thanks so much. Take care – Ted

Charlie has a new trick. He has decided he's my alarm clock. Every morning between 6am and 6.30am. He first knocks on my bedroom door saying Suzanne Suzanne. Then if I don't answer, he flies up hits the door handle and pushes the door in and goes Helloahh…… I find it funny but he wakes up all the volunteers lol. Good man Charlie they cant go back to sleep ;0)
