I believe if you support someone. You should know them personally. As many of our friends on here might never get to meet us. As you are from all over the world.
Over the next week i'm going to share a story on each and everyone one of our AHAR team.
Explain who they are, how they joined us. (or how we kidnapped them ;0) )
Of course i'm going to share some inside stories lol… that maybe i'll be murdered for but… hey, sure that's what its all about.
Everyone remembers their first day at school… ya?
Well so do I. My mom walked me down to Scoil Mhuire and led me into the class. I took one look around and said… I don't think so.
She hung up my coat, left my little bag next to my chair. Kissed me good bye and said see you soon.
Ha ha… ya right. I waited for awhile then decided ok I better head home.
I walked out of the school, walked home but when I got there she wasn't there so I sat on the front door step and waited.
When she came around the corner, she saw me playing with two snails I found in the garden. I thought they were so beautiful.
She roared…. "where did you come from?"
I thought she was mad. What was she on about?
Sure she said i'll see you soon?
Boy did I get dragged down the road and up the steps and back to the class room.
She waited till the teacher came and warned her to lock the door behind her pmsl.
Im Suzanne I hold the reins of AHAR, god help the world lol xx

- Sponsor a Stable for Romeo and Juliet
Rome and Juliet are the two beautiful, pl…Sponsor a Stable for Romeo and Juliet
Rome and Juliet are the two beautiful, placid border terriers who we rescued after they suffered horrific facial injuries. Poor Juliet had to have major reconstructive surgery to remove her teeth (although 6 were saved with synthetic caps), and completely re-build her jaw. It was one of the most horrific cases of cruelty we have witnessed. What was so amazing was the bond between the two of them and hence they were christened Romeo and Juliet. Romeo's love undoubtedly helped Juliet to find the strength to pull through. And just look at them now, only a few weeks later – completely different dogs thanks to all the love and kindness that has been showered on them by the wonderful AHAR volunteers.
So, we are now launching a 'Romeo and Juliet Stable Syndicate' – following the very kind suggestion from Jean Rowan last night who also made an initial donation towards it. This will mean that the story of these two little souls will always be commemorated at AHAR and hopefully serve as an inspiration that love can overcome horrific abuse.
As many of you are aware, we are currently fund-raising to buy a permanent future home for AHAR. Our new Rescue Centre is a former Equestrian Centre with 30 acres of land including a Stable Block, arena and outbuildings. Many of the stables and outbuildings will be converted into kennels so that we can save even more dogs in the future.
As part of our fund-raising drive we have made the 28 existing stables available for sponsorship (life-time sponsorship with a plaque on the door for a once-off donation of €1,000). Following the success of the Passion Stable Syndicates, 15 of the stables have already been sponsored and 13 are still available.
So now we are asking all those who have been touched by Romeo and Juliet’s story to help save the lives of many more dogs from death’s door in the future by becoming a member of the ‘Romeo and Juliet Stable Syndicate’.
50 “Stable Shares” at €20 each are now available in the ‘Romeo and Juliet Stable Syndicate’ – just log on to http://on.ahar.ie/stable to be part of the Syndicate. You can take one "share" or multiple “shares”, it’s entirely up to you. We will keep you up to date on progress and list all donors when the Syndicate is full.

Wow – we are once again blown away by all your generosity – 42 of the 50 shares have now been taken up in the 'Friends of AHAR Passion Syndicate in memory of Christy Gibbons' – Suzanne's dad and inspiration for AHAR.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far, including all the extended members of the Gibbons family.
So, would 8 more of you consider joining tonight to get us up to the magic 50?
It's just a 20 euro minimum donation for a 'share' and you can make your donation here – http://on.ahar.ie/stable
Thank you so much to everyone who has become a Syndicate member already – Suzanne's heart is bursting with pride tonight and even Princess Passion is nodding her beautiful diva's head in approval.

Last night you will have rea…HUGE THANK YOU to ADRIENNE O'KEEFFE (Read on…..)
Last night you will have read about the very generous donation of 2000 euro from David Downes to cover the cost of the specially equipped rescue stable for supporting extremely weak horses in AHAR's new premises (for which we are currently fund-raising).
Well……..Adrienne was so touched by the story of Passion's rescue and on-gong rehabilitation that she has very generously donated 1000 euro!!! So, as well as the rescue stable to commemorate David's aunt, Princess Passion will now have her very own stable sponsored by Adrienne next door – so she can give plenty of neighs of encouragement to the poor souls being cared for beside her.
Who says lightning doesn't strike twice! What an amazing gift – we are so grateful Adrienne and you probably heard Suzanne's screams all the way up in Dublin when we told her the news! Such was the ferocity of her shriek that several glass panes are now going to have to be replaced in her house but that's a small price to pay!!
If YOU would like to 'own' part of a stable in the new AHAR premises, then there are still 20 shares left (minimum donation of 20 euro each) in the syndicate initially set up for Passion and which will now be the 'Friends of AHAR Passion Syndicate in memory of Christy Gibbons' – Suzanne's father and inspiration.
Passion is a very demanding diva and she'll be stamping her feet and giving Suzanne and the other AHAR volunteers a torrid time until we get donations for those last 20 'shares'!

Sponsor a stable in memory of the man who helped me live my childhood dream….. AHAR. (Gaelic for father)
My father. Christy Gibbons. R.I.P
He was and still is a legend and died too soon before I got to show him I actually made it on my own, I got AHAR off the ground. My only wish is that he is looking down with pride.
He is the one person I'd love to be honoured in our new centre.
He is the reason AHAR made it and grew to this day. He believed in me.
As a child I would ask him, do you think i'll ever have a big farm to keep all the animals safe?
He would reply…pick a dream make it yours and never let go or give up and someday you will wake from your dream and you will have succeeded.
Jason Morris will now take over this post. Thanks to everyone who has donated xx

This means a lot to Suzanne – through his kindness and the magnificent way he brought Suzanne up, Christy was in a very real sense the founding father of AHAR.

As you know, we are workin…We have had… super news on the stable for Passion.
As you know, we are working the last few years saving the likes of her with straps and hard labour. Its so hard on the volunteers and very time consuming every day. The new stable will be fitted professionally with a hoist, lift, sling and the walls will be padded.
Well!!!! A man called David Downes has come forward an offered to sponsor the whole thing, two thousand euro. In memory of his aunt who had a life long love of horses.
David, your lucky you live in Dublin or I would now be knocking on your front door giving you the biggest hug ever!!!!
Your a legend and im putting both your names on that life saving stable.
This means the world to me, to in time be able to save these poor horses with such advanced equipment.
Id also like to thank Jason Morris. It was his first mission for AHAR tonight.
I think he might just be our lucky charm.
Our next syndicate is for my father. Christy Gibbons. He drowned while out sailing trying to save his friend who fell in.
I name AHAR after him. (Gaelic for father) He was my hero. Everything I am today was because he thought me to never give up and always follow your heart.
But most of all AHAR started when I was seven years old in his back garden in the middle of Cork city.
He was so patient and tolerant of so many animals looking in the window at him lol.
So everyone who donated tonight will now be transferred to the new syndicate in memory of the man who helped me live my dream…..AHAR XX
Kerry pound today.
A lovely little terrier covered in mange and the sweetest puppy only about 10/12 weeks old. A little collie female pup. About 5mnts….
