For little Mo and Helen C Byrnes. Who brought me to tears tonight reading her comments. How a stranger can open her heart to love an ex pound dog without even meeting them. Helen, your the reason we keep going xx

I guess its time to say goodnight again but its been another amazing day at AHAR. Im sure lots of you dread the alarm clock in the mornings, but are glad you have a job to go to.
Well my alarm clock is two parrots roaring " get up" " F**k Sake " and more cursing ect. Knowing im in bed laughing at them makes them even worse. Then all the dogs start barking and sure who needs an alarm clock with this lot??
Im privileged, to love my job. (if its a job?) or is it a passion of finding your path in life and never getting lost no matter what bumps in the road you hit.
Either way, im always grateful to be part of their lives and stories.
Im grateful to you, the people who support us day in, day out.
Thankyou for your comments, support but most of all for believing in our motto.Together we can make a difference, together we have proven it. AHAR is a team of friends, dont you ever forget that. Good night xx

Little Mo when we got him in Cavan pound. Skin and bone. Covered in cuts and soars. His eye was rotting, and looked like he was used as fighting bait. Well tomorrow he goes home with Helen. His eye removed, healed. No cuts or scars. Fat and neutered. Two vaccines, wormed, loved and will be microchipped in her name. Respect at long last in his little life xx

The people at AHAR are so busy these days with all the exciting things they have going on. With all of their time taken up saving animals and raising money to save even more, they don't have time to deal with everything that comes their way. This gorgeous little collie Arnie is looking for a home. Hi, Sharon here. I'm back in Galway now after the great get-together at the Killarney National Park for the AHAR sponsored walk. Out of the 150 dogs that were there, this little guy Arnie really stole my heart. He was rescued by the dog wardens a few months ago from a cruel and horrible situation. He was very thin and undernourished. His belly, legs and nose were bald and covered in scabs and sores because he had very bad mange. The vet reckons he was probably born with mange the poor fella so he has only recently discovered life without it. He was chained and alone all his life. He's still on his treatment for the mange but he's well on the road to recovery. He's around 2 or 3 years old, even-tho he looks a lot younger. He is small for a collie and very lightweight. He has a cute short nose. When you lift him up for a cuddle, he puts his two little front legs around your neck and clings on to you as tight as he can. He's a real little heart breaker. He's very gentle and he ADORES children. He is exceptionally great with very young children. He's very drawn to them. As you can see he has long hair already but when his hair grows back fully it will more than likely be mega long. You can see it already in his lovely white chest. He will be an absolutely stunning looking collie when he's fully recovered. He loves running around playing with other dogs. He's had a very lively few days here in galway with my gang of dogs running around and playing at the parks. He always wants to make friends with other dogs that we meet. He's very intelligent and very energetic and would need lots of exercise to keep him stimulated. He would get very bored otherwise, and we all know, a bored dog can be destructive. Because he's so smart and eager for action he'd make an amazing working sheep dog. He has all the characteristics and antics of the awesome sheepdogs on the TV. Of course he would need to have intensive training for that purpose. I'm hoping to find the most suitable home possible for Arnie. If anybody thinks they can offer him the amazing loving home that he deserves after all his hardship, please comment below and I will contact you privately. Thanks, Sharon.

Georgia here, am putting this gorgeous dog up again, as the home for him fell through mainly because he is too big for them and the other home fell through because he got a bit bossy with an already depressed dog. But he is really a big slob and he would be great in a one dog home, though he does seem to get on alright with the dogs at the shelter. SO if there is anybody who would like to give him a try as he really needs a home. Please phone Georgia on 0873231632.
