  • My constant dream… of AHAR.
If you have ever had the experience of waking up from an incredibly vivid dream, or even one that has become a hazy fog but still leaves an impression on your soul…like feeling the morning dew on your skin and lips due to its subject material, you know exactly what I mean by that….

Tom here, sorry for the delay in updating everyone tonight but I had to go meet Seamus and pick up Leo the Badger as tomorrow morning I will be dropping him to off to the staff of The wildlife unit in Kildare Animal Foundation where he will continue his rehabilitation. He is sleeping soundly at the moment which is great.

Well, six weeks into our fund-raising campaign for the new Rescue Centre and our total now stands at €28,625 – all being well we will be paying the deposit in the week after the walk and will then reveal where the property is and show you some stunning photographs which will make you appreciate why we are working so hard to make this happen. Our target is €100,000 and this will allow us to secure a mortgage on the property.
    Coming up.

We have our Sponsored Walk on Sunday next April 21st at 2pm, meeting at Ross Castle car-park from 1.30pm. As we will be walking in the National Park – around by the Copper Mines and the Lake Shore – your dog must be on a lead. (Don’t forget to bring your completed cards, or post to me this week). Remember that Sharon (Shannon) and Clyde will be leading out the walk.

Tickets are now available for the Jon Kenny concert in the Gleneagle Hotel on Saturday May 4th, tickets can be purchased online at http://on.ahar.ie/jonkenny or direct from the Gleneagle Hotel Box Office by ringing 064 66 71555.

Finally for now, if you can help us with organising a local fund-raiser in your area (we have some good ideas) can you please let me know by pm or by adding a comment. We would love if our supporters outside of Ireland could also get in touch as our fund-raising ideas will work in your country too! Cheers and thanks again for your support, faith and encouragement – the Dream of AHAR will be realised, have no doubt, Tom

  • We only made 82eu today, but… god did we laugh.
All you could do today was laugh. We got there and the wind blew us around the field, when we set up the table it took off. Pa Knowles had to use screws to hold it down. People were walking by and got a teddy in the face. The weather was so mean to a day that could have been fantastic…
