And the last update from Rushton tonight.
    Remember little Sarah?
Saved in Cavan pound, born with hydrocephalus. Then locked in a cat box for three years till she was dumped in Cavan pound.
I swear, the day i met her. I broke. I held her in my arms, all the way home. She just melted me. How? Could anyone do this?
Over the months it took to fix her as best i could. I fell in love, i wanted to keep her so badly. But i knew it wouldnt be fair on the next Sarah, that needed me.
Then Cindi saw her photo and read her story….
Hey presto!! Meet zoe, (Cindis daughter) her new home.
One of the worst goodbyes i ever said. But now seeing this photo and hearing she sleeps in Zoes bed…..ect.
    My job… is done.
But three weeks later, ive a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. Writing this. Trust me. The worst part of rescue….
    Saying, goodbye.

We just got an update about Guss in foster with Francesca Dawn Eyers. (One of the best new foster homes we've had in this last year).
Poor Gus was dumped with a huge cancerous growth in his eye. Thanks to the Ark vets who removed it all. Hes recovering very well with Fran.
Remember he'll be looking for a forever home very soon. Have you got a huge heart?
Dont worry… Guss has enough for both of you xx

Meet Ghost. Another rescue from Ireland living with Rushton dog rescue in the UK.
Ghost was found on the main Cork road, covered in mange. Dying of huge cancerous growths. Our vet said Suzanne let him go.
Nope, Ghost knew better. He wanted to live. He had other plans.
So we started his meds. First to get rid of the mange…
Then Anita planned his op. The most dangerous one. We had to be ready that he would not wake up. But guess what???
Of course he did. This is Anita, the best small animal vet in the world!!!
So…. when he was ready, Cindi drove over. And took him home forever.
    Look at him now…
    Spoilt brat xx

Holly is going to kill her mum Cindi (Rushton dog rescue uk) when she sees this photo but i think its class and says alot about the rescue. No matter what you are doing…. the dog comes first.
Breakfast or not. Give her attention lol.
The little dog is called the Badger (cos i swear she looks and acts like one) its the first dog Rushton dog rescue took out of Ireland from Kerry pound. Cindi came on her first visit to AHAR, and poor Badger was feral and she said i want this little one. Nobody else will. So years later the Badger rules their house and rescue. Fantastic photo and update. Thanks Cindi, sorry Holly but i still say…. its CLASS XX

The sun is shining but its – 1 here. Has anybody any dog rugs/jackets of all shapes and sizes that you are not using. The dogs need a run in the outside pens but its so cold. Ive been swopping jackets. It would be nice if they all had one. Maybe you have old ones and it doesnt matter if they are shabby.

Woke up this morning to see the fish jumping and playing in the bath. The three terrapins stretching their legs around the bathroom floor. Then Charlie the blue macaw was doing rain forrest noises in the hall. I just shook my head and put on the kettle lol.

More good news for ten ex pound dogs.
Thanks to Gail from Allsorts dog rescue UK. They are leaving Ireland tomorrow to go to her beautiful rescue to find their forever homes. As i send the photos weeks in advance, some have homes waiting already and others have home checks waiting. All are all double vaccinated, wormed, neutered/spayed and ready to go. This is the bit i hate, saying goodbye to them. But i love when Gail sends all the updates and their fab photos in their new homes. Thanks to everyone who helps us get these dogs off death row and changing their lives forever xx
