I just want to thank all the UK rescues we work with for tonight ringing, texting ect to see what they could do to help with all the puppies. By next tuesday, we'll have 44puppies between here and foster homes. All mixed breeds. Is this crazy or what? How can people not neuter their pets? It makes me so cross, its gone beyond a joke. I just know im so blessed to have one hell of a team of UK rescues on standby its just like having one team all pulling the same direction together. If your local and would like a puppy, please contact us. All it takes is a home check. Think about saving a rescue pup, they will repay you tenfold. All my own dogs are rescued over the years and there is not a day goes by, that they dont look me in the eye and say thankyou. They know a good life from a bad one, and hold on tight with four paws.

Amy welcomes JoLi to AHAR. Hes in a stable deep in shavings and plenty to eat. Tonight his life takes a turn for the better. All because two women didnt turn their back and walk away. They took action and did something about it. All it took was a phone call, and the hearts to care. Let this be a story to stick in peoples heads. Make that call to a local rescue if you even think, an animal needs help. We'll do the rest. Give them a voice. Thanks again Lisa and Joan, two wonderful women xx

Here is a update for the people who regulary ask what happens our pound dogs and are they pts and wonder where the pound dogs go.Any dog surrendered to the dog pound can be pts straight away and any stray dog that is brought to the pound and after their five straying days is up and no owner is found or comes forward they can be pts.

We at Cavan spca work (volunteer) round the clock to make sure
this does not happen and we try to get as many dogs out of Cavan County Council dog pound and in to homes and rescues where possible. It takes time, lots of phonecalls and facebook messages to organise this and with great teamwork it happens. With the help of Tina (Cavan Spca) and two other rescues we work alondside, Suzanne Gibbons (Animal Heaven Animal Rescue) and Inistioge puppyrescue we would not be able to do this.

For Instance Last Wednesday Suzanne offered to drive the long jorney from kerry up to cavan to save 25 stunning cavan dogs along with one of her volunteers Mark.Again two weeks before that she offered to do the same and on that date saved 14 cavan dogs. The amount of time and effort she spends in saving dogs all around the country is amazing and Suzanne doesnt get enough credit for what she does and neither does her army of volunteers I myself Have met some of them and like Suzanne they are in it for the animals and nothing else.I wanted to pay Suzanne back for the help she has given us in saving so many dogs and I also wanted to see for myself where the dogs where going to,So myself (Laura) & Lucy (Cavan spca Volunteer)travelled to kerry at the weekend to help Suzanne and see for our own eyes.

I dont Know if we were more of a nussiance to Suzanne than help, but sure we will say help lol.We couldnt get over how happy the dogs looked, how well feed they were and each and every dog had their own warm bed and lovely clean pens. The respect the dogs had for her says it all. While we were there I saw one particular collie dog getting eye treatment for his eyes and the care that was put in to it,he was wrapped up in a lovely warm blanket and when he got his treatment suzanne wasnt happy until she put him into her jeep and drove him up to the house so he would get extra tlc.

Suzanne works 24/7 day and night to make sure all the dogs she takes into her care get the best possible care and treatment and that they get their perfect homes. After our evening and nights work on the farm with the dogs we headed for the house, had something to eat had the craic and the laugh. At 3am myself and lucys eyes were closing so we hit the leaba and suzanne still had more work to do at that time of the night. On sunday morning we got a lovely wake up call from molly the parrot so it was time for us to set of to the farm again to attend all the lovely dogs and stumpy was there waiting for us lol.We left at 4pm and I have to say I did not want to leave and I cant wait to go back Again.Suzanne it was a pleasure been at ahar and to see for myself the work you do,Georgia it was lovely to meet you.A big thank you to all the uk rescues and Gail from allsorts dog rescue who assist Suzanne in finding homes for our Irish pound dogs.A big Thank you to Suzannes volunteers for helping her.I cant wait to come back to Ahar.Lucy is returning very soon to help.Ps Im to fast for Honky she will never knock me over..Pmsl.If any one of you is ever down in Kerry and feel like doing a days works feel free to call by Animal Heaven Animal rescue Suzanne would be delighted with the Help….Laura. (Cavan spca)
