I want to share a conversation i had today with Gail from all sorts dog rescue. "Oh my god Suzanne they are all so beautiful, how could people put them in the pound?" " I really dont know, i ask myself that every friday" " But they are all so loving and only begging for a bit of love?" " Im so delighted you like them, i loved them all.." then it was like hows my Bella? (the fourteen year old lurcher from Cavan pound) " Oh shes sitting in my car heading home with me, i love her. Shes stunning. Now i know what you mean" "Ahhh…please kiss her good luck in her new home, i miss her so much. My kitchen is not the same" " Dont worry Suz…. i promised you the best home i could get" " Hows Taz? Barney? Coco? Chum?" As we go through every dog one by one. As she talks im bursting with excitement thinking how happy the dogs are now. Death row is a distant memory. Then she says with pride "Guess what they had for breakfast?" Im like " What? Tell me?" As i laugh…" Boiled chicken breast, pasta and gravy" Ahhh… come on!!! That just gives me butterflies…Then shes like " Oh my head is fried, people fighting over the dogs since 8am… im wrecked. I tried telling them there is loads more in Ireland on the way, but i cant keep up" Then i die laughing at her. This is why i love what i do… this is a few moments in the life of living for rescue. This is living xx

Think of these three beautiful sad faces and wonder why? They were living feral in Kilgarvan. Begging for food from house to house, they are starved and so thin. Full of worms and so disheartened. Well thanks to Noreen and her friend tonight they are safe. They are fed and made comfy, tomorrow is the start of their new life. They never asked for this, it was forced on them.
