Just want to say thanks to Noreen O'Neill who started with AHAR today. Cant believe we have more help. Its so hard to come by. Noreen came to the pound and was heart broken to see the pups waiting, covered in lice from head to toe, stinking and so unloved. Thank you Noreen great to have you xx
Today there was five pups handed into the pound. So as they could go straight away, i went and got them so they didnt have to stay there any longer than they had to. They are only babies… Look at them tonight all cuddled up on the floor of my jeep loving the heat. Ahhh……

Hi everyone who supports AHAR its ten weeks to 16th of december and i was thinking wouldnt it be a lovely thing for us all to buy one little gift each week as we do our weekly shop for AHAR say a can of dog food or a chewy bone ect then Suzanne would have lots of little gifts that would soon add up .the gifts could be dropped into petmania near christmas or posted to suzanne . im sure someone in AHAR will put up an address for them to be sent to also. what a lovely Christmas Suzanne would have .She gives us all great pleasure and laughs during the year with her stories and the antics she gets up to …not to mention the hundreds of animals she saves… So lets treat AHAR. and all who work there. thank you from Mary Knowles.

Lara came to me twelve years ago.. from a friend who could not make a hand of her at the age of five. She was feral, and not willing to live with the family.
The first day she came, she broke free from his car. Nobody could catch her. She lived at the top of my drive way for many weeks. We would go out and feed her and every time put the food closer.
As each day passed, she became more curious. It took freezing cold weather before she came into the farm. It was a very cold winter and i had been sleeping at the farm to make sure the dogs kept warm as there was no house there.
I had a huge bonfire burning, id a flask of tea and next thing i know she crept up beside me and just lay down. She must have been so cold.
From that moment, Lara became my shadow.
Tonight she is seventeen years old… half blind, totaly deaf but the most loyal loving dog you could ever find.
All a dog needs is time… every day ive left with Lara means the world to me. I know i dont have much time left with her but all i wanted was her to make her birthday….
Tonight she got her favourite dinner…. tuna.
To everyone who loves their dogs… reach down and give them a hug from Lara….xx

Today Patch and Blackie came looking for a home. Blackie is 8yrs old and Pactch is 12mnts. Sadly their owner has to move to Canada for work. So hes heart broken but has no choice. So now its up to us to make sure they are safe and find new homes. This type of story breaks my heart. For both the owner and the dogs.
Elmo finds his forever home..
I bottle fed Elmo from a tiny baby foal and thanks to many friends who fostered him as he grew up, he turned into a beautiful donkey. I knew it was time to find him a home, but i kept making excuses… its too soon, hes not ready bla bla. Bottom line i hated saying goodbye……
